Nintendo Miiverse Available Online

Expanding Nintendo Miiverse from Wii U to the Internet

Nintendo announced yesterday that they are expanding the Miiverse from the Wii U to online.  You can use your same Nintendo ID to access Miiverse here.  You don’t need to be a Wii U owner to access Nintendo Miiverse, but you do need a Nintendo account and a computer, smartphone, or tablet.  As Nintendo notes on the homepage for Miiverse, this is a beta version.  Not all of the Wii U features are available, though we’re hoping that future updates to the site will allow full access.

Episode 2 of Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller was released on January 30th, 2012 by Phoenix Online Studios.  It continues the tale of FBI detective Erica Reed, who has cognitive powers.  Through point and click game play on your PC, you help Erica Reed solve the case of the Wise Monkey and hopefully rescue her partner, Sully.

Cognition combines past events with current action for a beautifully drawn mystery thriller

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller was released on October 30th, 2012 by Phoenix Online Studios

Before even opening Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, I read the comic that comes with it.  The comic is dark, well-drawn, and downright creepy!  I was reminded a bit of the movie Saw, moved into comic murder-mystery form.  The short comic works well at introducing the main character, Erica Reed, the villain, and hints at the motivation and plot. The drawing/art style turns out to be the best part of the game, both in fitting the theme and moving the story line along.

Star Trek Online Now Free to Play

There’s a rumor going around that space is the “Final Frontier.” Whatever. All you need to know is that blasting the holy living shit out of Klingons online is now free. So get your ass to Mars (wait, that wasn’t Star Trek…), or at least over to the Star Trek Online website, and get your phaser blasting finger ready to commit inter-galactic murder in the name of everlasting peace.
