Nintendo Miiverse Available Online

Expanding Nintendo Miiverse from Wii U to the Internet

Nintendo announced yesterday that they are expanding the Miiverse from the Wii U to online.  You can use your same Nintendo ID to access Miiverse here.  You don’t need to be a Wii U owner to access Nintendo Miiverse, but you do need a Nintendo account and a computer, smartphone, or tablet.  As Nintendo notes on the homepage for Miiverse, this is a beta version.  Not all of the Wii U features are available, though we’re hoping that future updates to the site will allow full access.

Xbox 720 Always Online

Microsoft Apologizes for Employee’s “Always Online” Comments, But Gamers Go Apeshit Anyway

Rumor Mill Fed By Unwitting Employee Goes Apeshit

You’ve probably heard the rumor going around for the last several months: Xbox 720 or 420 or whatever-the-hell they decide to call it will be an “always online” games console. For the time being, it’s just a rumor, though with several allegedly reliable sources backing it up. Yesterday, the proverbial shit hit the fan when a Microsoft employee started an ill-advised Twitter conversation and claimed that such a concept was “no big deal,” even though he confirmed nothing and Microsoft has since apologized for his foolishness. But never a community to think things through before letting their heads explode, gamers are up in a rage-filled screamfest, stamping their virtual feet and waggling their virtual e-swords even in a complete and total absence of facts. Let that sink in for a moment, people:

Gamers are allowing themselves to be worked into a drooling foam over unsubstantiated rumors. Is that really who you want to be, gamers? The angry children of the internet? Really? Let’s stop and reason a bit after the break, shall we?

Dead Space 3 Co-Op Critque and Tips

Dead Space 3; Not always scary, but it is the most co-op you’ll probably ever get in one sitting these days.

Dead Space 3 is surprisingly long in my opinion. I am only comparing it to other co-op games I have played, and some of those…well, I was thankful they were short, because they were poorly done. Dead Space 3 does have it’s flaws, but it’s a very good co-op game. But scary? Maybe once or twice.

Nvidia Introduces New Games Console, “Project Shield”

Project Shield Has High Hopes for Gaming

The most surprising thing about Nvidia’s Project Shield isn’t that Nvidia’s trying to build a console of their very own, it’s that  they managed to keep the damn thing a secret long enough to have a press conference where it could actually surprise anyone. That said, let’s get to the meat and potatoes, shall we? Follow me past the break for screenshots and full details on the specs of this Tegra 4 monster.
