Forza 4: American Le Mans Pack Sounds Thunderous!

Forza and the American Le Mans. More Cars, More Power!

Ever wanted to be part of  a league of “extraordinary gentlemen,” an upper class of elites who live, eat and breath octane higher than the pump typically offers, or at least pretend you do? Come February 7 you can download the new American Le Mans Series Pack, with ten new cars.

Burn it up in an Audi R18 TDI at Indianapolis, or take the corkscrew in the classic 1986 Audi Sport Quattro S1. Maybe you like the wankel whine in the Mazda 787B, or better yet the thundering bellows of the Panoz Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans”. Or maybe you’d prefer the roar of the 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R, or the 2011 Holden HSV GTS.

Maybe drive with some Hella Flush swagger in the Platinum Motorsport Bentley Continental GT or Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s Dodge Challenger SRT8. But then again, there’s also a 2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI, if you’re feeling frugal, and the 1992 Alfa Romeo 155 Q4, for when the real one breaks down again.

It could all be yours for 560 MS Points ($7 US) on Xbox Live,  or free/included if you have a Forza 4 Season Pass. Is it worth the coin? Depends: does the sound of a thundering engine get your blood flowing?

Resident Evil 5 and 6

Resident Evil: Undead Sexy

Growing up I’ve noticed life can be like being on a talk show, with no clue why you’re there. You wait patiently to find out what happens next, you’re introduced to insanely hot women and you pray she isn’t a man. If you’re lucky, she’s the old nerdy friend you never paid much attention to.

The fifth Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Retribution, is that very girl, looking monumentally epic, unlike anything in the previous flicks. And there’s a kicker, too: she brought more old friends (i.e. Rain/Michelle Rodriguez) you thought were long gone. But what about that new game? Read on after the break for my thoughts and to share your own!

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth

These are the times where the world is on a path of change greater then what any one person or president could ever fathom.

Director Kevin Tancharoen has begun with re-visioning the bloody classic with a more human approach. Some may cry foul and bloody murder to his new approach to beloved  world and characters; such as Reptile, Shang Tsung, and the gorgeous Sonya Blade, who’s played by the ever so stunning Jeri Ryan.

Mind you this is a mere pitch to sell his vision to the big wigs at Warner Bros. We may here something in the near future, besides the new game, for now view it and savor it in all its bloody goodness.

“Another one?” you may be asking yourself. Well yes and there’s a scientific explanation behind it, one I’ll butcher beyond definition.

You see, scientists have this theory where the human mind is somehow in sync with the rest of the world in some grand network. When one person thinks of something clever, possibly revolutionizing this world, some one else across the world has the same idea. The name of said phenomenon escapes me at the moment but I assure you its scientific.

In this case a small crew from Thousand Pounds Studios, lead by Chris Cowan, filmed its own take of the Street Fighter universe. With only a 400 dollar budget, a Canon EoOS 7D camera, and the dark magic of Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro, they made science entertaining.

Think of this as one of those chaser shots you take, just before you get to the serious drinking that makes your head explode. Its all in the name of science…. so go on now, view it.

Street Fighter Legacy: Movie!?!?

[singlepic id=24 w=320 h=240 float=none]

I know, I know, some of you blokes are have rolled your eyes more than the earth around the sun. But this time one must worried, for  it has Tom Cruise… well more like Sylaresque Ken Masters.

Anyhow, back to the movie. The short film is being produced by StreetLight Films and  Joey Ansah, co-directing; Ansah, some may recall, played sly CIA supper-assassin “Desh” in The Bourne Ultimatum.

Ansah is calling his attempt a “beautiful lil’ film that hopefully non fans will really appreciate…and the people who deserve it most…the fans,” set in a “darker toned and more adult themed” film, by capturing “the brilliance of the game” while staying “as faithful as possible down to the smallest details of the costume, the choreography, the narrative, the original music themes and of course the special moves!”

Yeah, we’ve heard that all before, too. But this does have blessings from Capcom and crew for their dedication, and hell, the film’s director, Owen Trevor, directs my favorite show, Top Gear. Then theres Anthony Wayne, who’s produced the last eleven Bond films, so maybe there’s hope after all. Christian Howard, the co-writer/storyboarder/choreographer, will rightfully play Ken.

Give the two teaser trailers a gander, those sixty seconds alone are better then the last two attempts in live action.

The short will be released Thursday, June 6, 2010.
